What types of building work do you take on?

At MCM Building & Construction, I take on new home builds, extensions and additions, renovations and conversions (including bathrooms, kitchens and open-plan living), facade upgrades, garage conversions, granny flats, and outdoor entertaining and landscaping such as decks, pergolas and retaining walls.

Do you offer design and construct services?

Yes — for new builds and extensions, I can assist with the design, engineering, approvals and construction, so you’re not coordinating separate consultants yourself.

Are there any types of jobs you don't take on?

I don’t take on commercial work such as office fit-outs, shops or service stations. My focus is residential building — new homes, renovations and extensions.

What types of work need council approval, and what doesn't?

Any extension or addition to your home, including standalone structures like granny flats and carports, generally needs council approval.

If you’re upgrading or replacing an existing structure — an internal renovation, for example — you usually won’t need approval, and smaller jobs like decks, pergolas and retaining walls can fall under exempt development depending on their size and scope.
